You begin the game as 16-year-old Lara Croft. Basically, just do what Von Croy tells you to do, but feel free to do a little exploring. To skip through Von Croy's advice, press the 'look' button. There are eight (8) secret golden skulls lying around, so keep your eyes open. There are two paths that can be taken later in the level. If you collect all eight skulls, you'll take the left path--for the heretical. If you don't collect them all, you'll take the right path--for the virtuous.

Von Croy will warn you about the danger ahead. After he has done this, you can pick up your first golden skull. It's on the left of the room near the stairs. Now, follow Von Croy. When you see him pushing a symbol don't go any further. He's deactivating a spike trap. When he's finished, he'll run ahead. Follow him.

The next thing you have to do is jump across the small gap. Before you do this, look over the edge. There's another golden skull in the water. There's stairs on either side to get back up. When you have jumped over the gap, get close to Von Croy. There's a boar running around and he is the only one with a weapon. You can also continue forward and climb up out of the boar's way.

Now you'll need to make two long jumps. After the second jump, you can drop down to the lower level and pick up the third golden skull. There is a ramp at the far end that you can use to get back up to the top level. Next, you'll need to shimmy across the crack that Von Croy points out to you and pull yourself up. Follow the corridor and drop down into the next room.

There is a golden skull at the bottom of the pool. There's also an underwater path that you can take to get a large and small medi pack. You can climb out of the pool to the left of the waterfall. Once out, push the lever so Von Croy can get over to you. Follow him.

Now, you'll need to climb up that ladder and push another lever. With that done, drop down and continue down the newly opened path. Next you'll need to go across the vines above you. Drop down on the other side.

You'll exit into an open area. Stay near Von Croy--there's a wild boar running around. Once Von Croy has killed it, continue on. There's one more boar so stay near Von Croy again. Once it's dead, take a look around that area and you'll find a golden skull--it's tucked into a corner. Next, go through the doorway.

You'll come out into another open area. Go through the next doorway and toward the right side of the room where you'll find another golden skull. That makes six. Watch out for those spikes in the floor, they'll cause a lot of damage.

Now you'll need to crawl into that small opening near Von Croy. Take the path on the left to pick up a golden skull--only one more left. Turn around and take a left and turn right into a large room. Now you know the origins of Lara's backpack. Pull the lever and then exit the room to meet Von Croy.

Go down the path you just opened. At the bottom there are dart traps. Sprint through them, then hit the jump button to dive and roll under the lowering wall. Or you could just crawl across the room... You'll exit into an open area.

Before going up the stairs, turn to your right and climb onto the platform. The last golden skull is in the corner. Now continue up the stairs. If you collected all of the skulls, you'll take the path of the heretical, on the left. If you didn't, you'll take the path of the virtuous, on the right.

When you get to the main room on either path, there will be a rope hanging from the ceiling. The only difference here is that the path of the virtuous has a pool while the the path of the heretical has an empty pool. On the left side of the room is a crawlspace that you can jump up and pull yourself into. Follow the path. When you get to the top, follow the path to the right. Now you can take a running jump to grab onto the rope. Swing over to the other side by holding down the 'run' key. If you have any trouble with timing when to let go, move around on the rope and turn until you are facing the side you jumped over from. Then start swinging and watch the platform you want to end up on. When you see Lara's shadow on it, it's safe to let go. Pull the lever and drop down to the main floor. Go through the passageway to enter the next level.
